Each year, tens of thousands of individuals serve with AmeriCorps programs to make changes in communities in all 50 U.S. states, territories, and select tribal nations. Serving with an AmeriCorps State and National program puts you in an environment that propels your personal development, opens diverse career paths, and promotes lifelong civic engagement.

A Year with Project POWER/AmeriCorps

A year with Project POWER/AmeriCorps is a unique experience that allows the member develop professionally and personally. PPAC members address social determinants of health such as food insecurity, basic needs, access to quality early childhood education, and academic enrichment for K-12 students.

Members typically serve 1700 hours over 11 months beginning in August. They spend the year not only serving adults and children in their community, but participating in professional development training, gaining experience and building a network of community leaders. Project POWER members receive a living allowance, education award and other benefits.
